When to Light
the Menorah (Chanukiya) today?
On Friday afternoon, the lighting of the
Chanukah lights precedes the lighting of the
Shabbat candles.
One should be careful to
use sufficient oil to ensure that they
remain lit for at least half an hour after
the appearance of the stars.
