Insights - The Light Switcher

A college student once asked the Lubavitcher Rebbe what is his job. The Rebbe gestured to the ceiling of his room and replied:

Do you see that light bulb? It is connected by wires to a power plant that powers the whole of Brooklyn. And that plant is connected to turbo-generators at Niagara Falls that power the whole of New York State and more.

Every one of us is a light bulb wired in to an infinitely powerful generator. But the room may still be dark, because the connection has yet to be made. The job of a rebbe is to take your hand in the dark room and help it find the switch.

Shanghai Gan

Another whirl wind week has passed us by with the sounds of drums, tapping, hooting, blowing and in general lots of music sounds.  Did you know your body can make lots of music? Well we certainly know now, but maybe you should not ask the children!

We had two wonderful visitors to our music time in the form of Boaz and Ayelet, who had us singing and dancing to the sounds of the guitar, banjo and harmonica, it was an exciting morning and David from our Bagel class was the first to get up and ‘boogie’! Liya was also very excited to have her parents perform for us.  Thank you both we all had a great time.

Chanukah is  just around the corner and kids have been in full swing practicing for their performance, all their ‘extras’ teachers are amazed at how talented the children are ( of course we already knew, but it is nice to hear it from someone else).  I watched the ballet class as they prepared for their performance and had to agree with their teacher!

We will be sending invites out next week, but we would like you to pencil in Wednesday 8th December for our school special performance!

Hope to see you all at the Grand Bazaar on Sunday.
